Yeah! See What Has Befallen Former President Goodluck Jonathan's Hometown, Otuoke

The Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman in Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State Mr Elijah Ateki, the Chairman, has expressed dissatisfaction over the scarcity of potable water in the area.

According to Ateki who spoke in Otuoke, former President Goodluck Jonathan's hometown, said, the lack of portable water, which the community has suffered over the years, is due to the pollution of rivers in the area by oil spillage. He urged the State and Federal Governments to provide the people with potable water.

Emmanuel Agede, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in the area, narrated how they use water from an unused suck-away pit dug near their lodge, for washing clothes and bathing, adding that bulk of their monthly allowances is spent on sachet water used for cooking and drinking.
